EVE Choosing a mission ship

These days, I spend my time in EVE jump cloning between my hi-sec mission hub to make money, and the alliance home in Syndicate. Syndicate isn’t a money losing place to live, but with my skills, it can’t compare to a nice hi-sec mission hub for money. While cranking out level 4 missions in Gallente space, I’ve been thinking about my setup, my skills, and the fastest way to clean out these level 4′s solo.

EVE and Traveling in 0.0

I’m mostly settled in to my new home in Syndicate region. This area is a bit of a no-man’s land. One of the things I’ve noticed while looking at the DOTLAN maps and watching the corp chat is that many people die needlessly in lo-sec and 0.0.

Syndicate… again.

My main character has moved on to a new corp. How it happened was a little odd. I had an evemail chat with my boss about the activity level and current plans. He encouraged me to chat with an acquaintance of his and maybe join their company if it is a good fit. He also asked me to report back about my experiences. I think he has an eye toward either merging or joining their alliance. My industry alt is still in my old corp. If I like the new corp, I’ll move him.

EVE- Worlds Collide

I’ve heard that one of the hardest L4 missions in EVE is “Worlds Colide”. I’ve always passed on it because I didn’t think I had the time to do it on the work nights when I’ve received it (or maybe I was scared). Well, I finally completed it last night. I got the Gurista Overlord spawn (no good loot). This mission is less difficult then Assault in my opinion. You have to watch your drones though as various groups like to go after them. The comments on eve-survival suggest that the NPC’s will switch agro from you to the drones. I didn’t experience this, but some groups seem to prefer your drones initially. The haul was about 50 million ISK in bounties, rewards, and loot.

A Cautionary Tale for Hi-sec Travelers in EVE.

While traveling from Hek to Dodixie in my bestower (industrial tansport ship), I got blown up by someone in a tempest. I had about 250 million ISK of junk in the hold including my trusty Ishtar (119 M in dodixie just for that). It was one shot, one kill. I didn’t see any indication of targeting, so I assume that passive targeting was used. Fortunately, I had just sold off some faction fittings and other valuables while in Hek, so the loss wasn’t the end of the world.

What is “End Game” in EVE?

My current corp is currently active at a different time then I am. They’re all on from midnight to 3AM EDT, and I’m on in the evening. Because of this, I’ve been thinking about moving on. I haven’t yet because I haven’t decided what I want to do. I figured I’d write a post on the different end games that I see in EVE since I’ve been thinking about them. I’ll probably miss some facets of the game as I’ve never partaken in them.

Back to Eden

I’ve gone back to EvE for a while. I dropped off the face of the um… universe when dominion came out, so I missed out on a lot of those changes. Planets are mow actual nice looking spheres instead of discs for instance.

RV Living Part 2

Five days later, I don’t regret buying the Orca. I notice my habits changing though. I am more willing to keep stuff since there is a much higher limit to the stuff I can move around.

RV Living

I spent almost all of the ISK I had to buy and insure an Orca. My two characters are now living out of the Orca. The way I use it now is to park the Orca near a planet cloaked while my combat character goes out and finds exploration sites. I then switch and fit ships with the maintenance bay to handle actually going into the sites.

Invention Skills

Just a short post. To start research, you only need to have one of the skills at level 1 that the research agent covers. For example, if your agent has Gallente Starship Engineering 4 and Plasma Physics 4, then you need one of those at level 1 to start research. Of course, you can only start research in areas where you are skilled and the agent covers.
