Remembering Why Missions Are Good

I took my new Ishtar out for a spin in EVE and did the Recon (1 of 3) mission. It was slow going as I haven’t done a mission in a while and I was in a new ship with different handling then my Dominix.

The Ishtar tanks surprisingly well. I orbited a cargo can with afterburners on and I only occasionally had to turn on the armor repairer. The damage from my guns was pretty pitiful, but my drones ate through battleships like me through a box of twinkies…. Well, actually I don’t like twinkies, but you know what I mean.

When the mission was done about 90 minutes later, I had collected 15M in bounties, 5M in salvage, 5M in loot, and the 1M reward. Recon isn’t a particularly lucrative mission and I still made more ISK in 90 minutes then I would have ratting. Missioning is more exciting too. After I was done with Recon, I got a storyline mission to deliver 8000 units of Kernite one jump from my current station. I spent about 1M on the kernite and delivered it in exchange for a 20M implant. That whole process took about 20 minutes. Not a bad haul for an evening.
