The Second Great Exodus to 0.0

Today, I spent some time getting a covert ops ship (a helios) down to our new 0.0 home in Syndicate region. That was all I had planned for the day, but I found an ishkur for a reasonable price in system. I bought it and fitted it for ratting serpentis. Here is the load out:

[Ishkur, New Setup 1]
Low:
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Basic Power Diagnostic System

Mid:
1MN Afterburner II
Gistii B-Type Small Shield Booster
Additional Thermal Barrier Emitter I

High:
Salvager I
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S

Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I

Hobgoblin II x5
Hobgoblin II x3

Holy crap! Shield tanking an Ishkur? I must be insane! It could be, but using a shield tank and damage mods, I get about 240 dps as opposed to 204 dps and the tank is more then adequate for ratting. I went to a few belts in our home system and kicked the tires. The tank held up well and I was able to take down Serpentis Barons (550k bounty) in about 40 to 60 seconds. Once I get better skills and maybe some better magnetic field stabalizers, I should be at about 290 DPS.

This whole move threatens to throw off my skill training plan. If I spend a lot of time in 0.0, I’ll probably push back my heavy and sentry drone skills and move up my gunnery skills. When flying either the Ishkur or my pvp Vexor, gunnery skills will give more bang for the time spent. If I’m going to be shield tanking Ishkurs I’ll need to work on engineering skills too. I’m not too anxious about it though. nothing ever goes according to plan.
